trying to catch a leaf

These pictures were taken today by my dad at his house. He slyly got his camera to catch Samantha trying to catch a leaf that was outside of the window. Then he just kept taking pictures. I thought they were cute and wanted to share them!! Enjoy!!

An Update....

So, it has been a crazy month!!! WE MOVED!! It has been great being in a new house, a little chaotic, but great!! We have done some traveling, and also trying to unpack boxes.

The first weekend of September, Samantha and I drove down to Charleston to see my friend Owen. He and his fiance were in town for a wedding, so we went to have dinner with them. Sadly, Megan got sick, so we didn't get to meet her, but Owen, Samantha, and I still got to have dinner. Saturday morning was very eventful. Sam and I were going to have breakfast with Annie and Frank then do a little shopping at the outlet mall. Instead we spent most of the morning in the ER. While I was getting dressed, Samantha fell on the tile in the bathroom. She ended up with a minor concussion. She's great now, but it was LONG drive home!! On our way home, I stopped in Spartanburg at the mall to get out for a few minutes to see if she would stop crying. That few minutes ended up being about an hour and a half because I locked my keys in my car. Needless to say, I was really glad to get home!

The next week, we closed on the new house. So there was a lot of packing, cleaning, and trying to find things that week. We moved into the new house the 3rd week of Sept. We were able to get everything in the house in one day due to some AMAZING help!!!! At the end of the day the only thing we had left to do was put up the pictures (that is still the only thing I have left to do). It was a great couple of weeks because Colby was in town, so we got to hang out a lot. Samantha LOVES her Uncle Colby!!

The last weekend of Sept, mom, dad, Colby, Samantha, Maddison, Jason, and I headed to Easton, Maryland for our cousin Kate's wedding. It was a LONG drive, but we were so glad we were able to be there with Kate and Ben (her new husband) and the rest of my dad's family!!

The first weekend in Oct. I noticed an ad in the WNC Parent magazine, and decided we just had to see what it was all about. So, last Saturday, Peter, Samantha, and I drove to Beech Mtn. to "Autumn in Oz." Between 1970-1980 there was a small resort area called the Land of Oz. It was a park with characters, rides, and attractions all about Oz. It closed in 1980. The park reopened for one weekend a year 17 years ago. Many of you know that I LOVE "The Wizard of Oz," so I was all about this!! I got tickets in the middle of the week, and it's a good thing I did because it was sold out when we got there. So, Saturday morning we headed up to Beech Mtn. We ate lunch in Banner Elk, then headed up the mountain. I had heard that most of the kids dressed up, so I couldn't pass up the chance to dress Samantha up. Thank goodness for PARTY BLVD!!! We dressed her up as "The Cowardly Lion." We just added pink shoes and a big pink bow. She was PRECIOUS!! Anyway, it was a lot of fun!! We saw all of the characters, went through Dorothy's house, and walked down the yellow brick road. It was something different to do, and a great memory!! I'll update again soon, especially now that we're settled. Hope you have a great day!
